Elephant Sanctuary Experience

Overview

Combine a scenic journey along the Mekong with two relaxing nights at Sanctuary Pakbeng Lodge and a full day discovering the elephants of Mekong Elephant Park.

Created in collaboration with Mekong Elephant Park and Shompoo Cruise, this 3-day journey brings together Mekong travel, the comfort of a riverside lodge and a meaningful elephant experience in a protected forest environment.

Tour description

• Day 1 – Mekong Cruise & Sanctuary Pakbeng Lodge:
  Travel along the Mekong with Shompoo Cruise and arrive in Pakbeng. Transfer to Sanctuary Pakbeng Lodge, check in and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

  Relax by the swimming pool, spend time on the terrace overlooking the Mekong or simply enjoy the peaceful riverside surroundings.

  Dinner at leisure and overnight at the lodge.

• Day 2 – Full-Day Elephant Experience:
  After breakfast, transfer to Mekong Elephant Park for the Full-Day Elephant Sanctuary Experience, from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm.

  Begin with an introduction to the elephants before encountering them in their forest environment. Walk alongside them and observe their natural behaviours, including bathing and/or snack time depending on their rhythms and the conditions of the day.

  Enjoy a full-menu lunch at the park restaurant before continuing with afternoon activities. These may include preparing energy balls for the elephants, observing traditional bamboo weaving, loom weaving and blacksmith workshops, an elephant health check and observation of the elephants bathing in the Mekong.

  Return to Sanctuary Pakbeng Lodge. Dinner at leisure and overnight at the lodge.

• Day 3 – Continue Your Mekong Journey:
  After breakfast, transfer to the pier and continue your journey with Shompoo Cruise toward your next destination.

• This experience combines services provided by Sanctuary Pakbeng Lodge, Mekong Elephant Park and Shompoo Cruise.
• Activities and schedules may be adjusted when necessary according to elephant welfare, weather conditions or operational requirements.
• Any services or activities not specifically listed under “Inclusions” are not included and may be subject to an additional charge.
• Additional booking, payment and cancellation conditions will be communicated at the time of confirmation.
